Intimate: adjective: closely acquainted; familiar, close. having or creating an informal friendly atmosphere. involving very close connection.
Join us for an evening of intimate worship in the truest sense of it's definition with the Lord and one another.
The Goals:
1) Glorify God
2) Enjoy His and one another's presence
3) Foster a worship community of trust
4) Hear His voice and share His heart with one another
5) Grow in confidence and comfort in exercising the spiritual gifts we've been given in an affirming, life-giving, safe and secure way.
Overview:
We will be providing a grand piano, simple keyboard, 2 acoustics and a cahon. If you'd like to bring your own instrument you are welcome to. Pastor Kevin and I will be opening up the evening with a few songs and key directional moments, but after this we will be relenting to the move of the Spirit in our midst. We may vamp on a song for long periods of time. A vocalist may ask another instrumentalist to lead a particular song that the Lord puts on their heart. We may pray in the Spirit, or seek words of knowledge and wisdom for one another. We may be still and know that He is God. Hopefully you get the picture. In one sense, we have an expectation of what the evening will entail. In another sense, we have no idea what God will do in our midst.
Guidelines:
1) Give space as we transition from song to song for the Spirit to move.
2) If 2 people simultaneously begin a song, humbly discern if you are to bow out and lead you song (or not) at a later time.
3) Only join in if you can. If you can add to the song vocally and/or instrumentally then do so, if not then simply listen and engage with the Lord in prayer and meditation.
4) Give room for others to join in or lead. Refrain from dominating the setlist.
5) Unless the Lord leads otherwise, lead songs that we know and can agree on in praise.
6) If you don't have or play an instrument, politely ask if someone can play your song as the night unfolds.
7) Be willing to submit you idea or song to the overall direction of the leadership.
